Counter/Inside Sales Representative

Pay Base Salary determined on experience + commissions
Summary of Position The Counter/Inside Sales Representative supports customers at the counter and by phone, processes orders in Trulinx, and builds hydraulic/industrial hose assemblies. This role combines customer service, product knowledge, sales support, and hands‑on hose assembly work to meet customer needs efficiently and professionally.
Customer Service & Sales
Assist walk‑in and phone customers with product selection and order fulfillment
Enter orders accurately in Trulinx and navigate multiple computer programs with speed and accuracy
Provide excellent service, identify customer needs, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
Build and maintain strong business relationships with customers to support ongoing sales efforts
Hose Assembly & Warehouse Support
Build hydraulic and industrial hose assemblies to customer specifications
Support inventory control, maintain organized workspace, and assist with shipping/receiving as needed
Perform warehouse‑related physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, bending, and working in varying conditions
Order Processing & Administration
Process cash, credit, and check transactions for counter orders
Maintain accurate inventory counts and support daily store operations
Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain a professional, clean work environment
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required
Customer service or counter sales experience preferred
Prior hose, fittings, or industrial supply experience a plus
Ability to quickly learn Trulinx and retain product knowledge
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Windows)
Ability to type 35–50 WPM
High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Energetic, reliable, and a team‑player with a positive attitude
Physical Requirements
Prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and working in warehouse conditions
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. routinely, in adherence with Midwest Hose Safety Standards
Comfortable working around machinery, light dust, and temperature fluctuations
