Overview
PT Sales Associate Cashier role at Food Lion. Primary purpose is to provide fast, easy, flexible and friendly service to customers while supporting standards defined in the Front End Standard Practice Manual. Work with store team to maximize sales through excellent customer service. Responsibilities
Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service to create a positive shopping experience Greet customers and use their name when possible Unload groceries from cart to belt and organize items for easy bagging (group cold items together) Check cart bottoms and under seats for missed items Follow correct bagging procedures by bag type Scan orders and handle payment transactions per standard practice Maintain professionalism with customers and minimize personal conversations with other associates when customers are present Handle cash, checks, coupons, gift cards, partner cards, food stamps and WIC vouchers; follow refund and error-correction procedures Maintain accurate cash control Perform overrides as needed and assist customers with their orders Offer to take customers’ orders to their cars when needed Maintain alertness and request assistance to meet service standards Check prices quickly and accurately Wear the Food Lion uniform with apron and name badge; present neat appearance per dress code Retrieve shopping carts from parking lot and corrals; maintain tidy front-end area Report register malfunctions and ensure MVP savings center KIOSK is stocked and functioning Adhere to company guidelines, policies and standard practices; observe and correct unsafe conditions Notify QA of cleaning or maintenance needs on front end Complete computer-based training (CBT) and training aids; perform other duties as assigned Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent preferred Effective communication and customer service skills Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations Physical Requirements
