Retail Associate (Part-Time) – Allisonville Rd. Fishers, IN – Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana
Position Type: Part-time | Pay: $13 per hour
The Retail Associate assists the store management team in meeting operational goals by performing a variety of roles within the retail location, including Cashier, Textiles/Wares Producer, Donation Door Attendant, eCommerce Producer, e‑Books Producer, and Rack/Cart Runner.
Responsibilities
Cashier: Rings up customer orders, maintains a balanced drawer, and follows all cash handling procedures. Provides general information about Goodwill programs and directs higher‑level questions to the appropriate associate or manager. Maintains cleanliness of the sales floor (purge, size, run racks, and merchandise).
Textiles or Wares Producer: Sorts product to identify quality and value, checks for holes, missing buttons, defective zippers, or stains, and cleans as needed. Produces 100 wares per hour or 85 textiles per hour, adheres to Goodwill’s pricing standards, and updates daily production tracking sheets. Occasional use of a pallet jack and regular use of a conveyor belt.
Donation Door Attendant: Accepts donations from customers and maintains a clean donation door. Quickly and accurately sorts products and distributes them to appropriate areas. Keeps the backroom clean and organized, labels all boxes, and uses heavy equipment such as a pallet jack, double stacker, floor scrubber, and hydraulic lift. Loads and unloads trucks as needed.
eCommerce Producer: Develops a keen eye to identify and secure items of value for ClickGoodwill. Stays informed of market value through eBay and other online sites to properly tag, itemize, and secure items. Packs, wraps, and ships totes, meeting the store’s budget for totes shipped per week.
e‑Books Producer: Scans books, decides whether to send to ClickGoodwill or display in store, prints inventory sheets, and ships totes. Identifies top sellers and maintains a clean, organized in‑store display.
Rack and Cart Runner: Checks each rack/cart for quality and value. Sizes, merchandises, and purges the sales floor. Keeps the floor clean, puts away carts, stocks shelves, runs one textile rack/wares cart per 15 minutes, and updates daily tracking sheets.
