About Our Retail Team Become part of the dedicated Retail Team at The Salvation Army! Together, we can serve and impact our local community through our commitment to “ Do The Most Good ” at the Casa Grande Thrift Store, supporting the Adult Rehabilitation Program. This role offers an opportunity to promote a positive shopping and donor experience, enhance customer service, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, while contributing to the success of our Program and its participants.

Responsibilities of the Sales Associate/Material Handler
Greet customers and donors warmly, providing prompt and courteous assistance.
Stock and merchandise items on the sales floor.
Maintain store cleanliness and organization, including donation areas.
Follow POS/Cash Register Policies in line with TSA Procedures.
Ensure safety and compliance standards are met.
Attend monthly store meetings.
Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory accurately.
Inspect products for defects and damages.
Assist donors with removal of donated items and provide receipts.
Sort and stack donated materials properly.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Ability to operate POS/Cash Register accurately.
Pass background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
Effective communication skills with management, staff, customers, and donors.
Physical Demands
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist regularly.
Ability to grasp, push, pull objects.
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Perform repetitive motions as needed.
Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Schedule Stores operate 7 days a week. Flexibility is required to ensure adequate coverage, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The organization will comply with COVID-19 safety measures, including vaccination requirements, with considerations for exemptions on religious or medical grounds.
