The purpose of the Event & Celebration Squad Volunteer role is to bring joy, excitement, and a sense of community to residents by helping create memorable events, special occasions, and festive experiences. Volunteers play a key part in transforming everyday moments into celebrations through creativity, enthusiasm, and genuine connection.
Key responsibilities
Help plan and prepare for events and celebrations, contributing ideas, themes, and creative touches that bring occasions to life.
Assist with decorating event spaces, creating vibrant, welcoming, and festive environments residents can enjoy.
Support the setup and pack‑down of activities, ensuring events run smoothly and the space stays safe and organised.
Engage with residents during celebrations, offering warm conversation, encouragement, and inclusive participation.
Help facilitate event activities, such as games, performances, themed days, or special cultural celebrations.
Personal skills and qualities
Reliability, consistency and commitment
Ability to build genuine connections with older people
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Time commitment
