Hourly Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Purpose The Parts Counterperson sells parts at retail to customers over the counter, through the shop, or by phone, ensuring excellent service and accurate order fulfillment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion products, offer specials, and ensure exposure to the full product line.
Pull purchases from stock, determine availability for out-of-stock items, and submit emergency orders as requested.
Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and product information, and assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up and verify "will call" and "back order" files weekly.
Assist service technicians in selecting parts needed for repairs and process charge-outs by verifying repair order and parts requisition documentation.
Order parts not in stock after discussion with Shop Foreman to ensure customer needs are met.
Issue credit for returned parts with original invoice verification and process tax-exempt and credit card transactions per dealership guidelines.
Maintain clean and organized counter areas; replenish assigned inventory daily and stay current on new products.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures; immediately report any accidents to a manager or supervisor.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
One year of experience in an automotive parts department.
One year of sales experience.
Professional personal appearance.
Ability to work well with the public, sometimes with several customers at a time.
Will be required to wear a dealership uniform at all times.
All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
All applicants must perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.
All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license.
