Position Overview The

Light Equipment & Rental Sales Representative

is a professional two‑part sales role. In the light‑equipment portion, you will prospect and sell compact track loaders, mini excavators, small articulated loaders, and wheel loaders up to 100hp. In the rental portion, you will drive utilization across Monroe Tractor’s extensive late‑model rental fleet (no limitations on rental line, from 1T mini excavators to giant crushers).

Territories include Hartford (CT), Litchfield (CT), Hampden (MA) and Hampshire (MA) counties.

Compensation Pay:

$50,000–$65,000 base annual salary plus uncapped commission. Many sales reps exceed an average annual income of $150,000.

Qualifications

Prior experience with light construction equipment required.

Proven sales success with goals achieved or exceeded.

Problem‑solving skills.

Strong independent work ethic and ability to collaborate with internal staff to achieve individual and branch goals.

Excellent customer service skills; a builder of relationships.

Clear and concise communication.

Strong sense of urgency, focusing on time and territory management.

Strong computer skills with priority on Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

Identify and engage prospective customers; offer assistance or direction to those who could benefit from our services.

Assist customers by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses.

Explain product performance, application, and benefits to prospective customers.

Describe all equipment options available for customer purchases.

Rent out the entire product line (no stipulations: Light & Heavy).

Build strong rapport and lifelong relationships with customers.

Effectively overcome objections, close sales, and perform all other steps of the sales process in accordance with company standards.

Actively use and update the Customer Relationship Management System (CRM).
