Mud Pie is seeking a motivated, curious, and detail-oriented recent graduate to join our Home Design Team as an Assistant Designer at our Atlanta‑area corporate headquarters.
This is a real‑world, hands‑on opportunity to contribute meaningfully within a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. The Assistant Designer will work closely with our Lead Designer, play an active role in the product development process, and gain exposure to the full lifecycle of bringing products to market within a leading and growing wholesale and consumer brand.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Familiarity with current color, font and print trends and styles Conduct frequent research in the marketplace for new and current trends, new piece types Translate trends into concepts that fit the Mud Pie brand Assist Design Director and Designers with spec designs Conduct and review product revisions with department Director Identify piece types and products for development Prepare presentation materials for line previews Responsible for assisting with sample review and approval Independently design one to two collections with Supervisor approval Versatility and resourcefulness in design styles and techniques Participate in design meetings and reviews Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design or related design field Entry level candidates with the right experience that are willing to grow with Mud Pie Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite- InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong time management and creative problem‑solving skills Strong creative vision including style, color and pattern direction Proven ability to multi‑task under deadline pressure with excellent follow through Ability to manage product design in fast‑paced and deadline driven environment Works well with a team but independently with minimal direction
