Marketing Intern

Sapling, Boston, MA, United States

We’re hiring a Marketing Intern at Sapling. Sapling is an AI study companion that shows you exactly what you know. Your knowledge lives as a live, interactive graph that updates in real time as you learn, color-coded by mastery so the gaps are impossible to ignore. For students, that means no more guessing what to study. Sapling is also a social platform where students interact and teach each other, generate personalized study guides for specific exams, take quick quizzes on their weak spots, and pull deadlines straight from their syllabus. It’s the study group you always wished you had, powered by AI.

We’re approaching closed beta, growing fast, and looking for someone to help us reach the students who need us most. You’ll shape how the world first sees Sapling by crafting videos, writing posts, building our brand voice, and driving the growth that takes us from beta to launch.

This is not a “make the Canva post and schedule it” internship. You’ll have real ownership over how Sapling looks, sounds, and spreads.

Hard Requirements:

Based in Boston – Boston University students strongly preferred.

This role involves on-campus outreach, in-person collaboration, and showing up where students actually are.

This is an unpaid position.

Applicants must be current undergrad students for the duration of the internship.

Duration: Summer 2026 to Fall 2026 What you’ll actually be doing:

Editing and producing short-form videos, product trailers, and feature spotlights that make people stop scrolling. We want personality and soul, not corporate polish (Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, etc). Product trailers are designed to showcase the product with clean renders, crisp white-background sequences, and motion that feels intentional and high-polish.

Reaching students directly through Boston University campus organizations, student influencers, and the spaces where they actually spend time online and in the greater Boston area.

Maintaining a tight, consistent brand identity across every piece of content we put out. Colors, tone, typography, motion style. Everything should feel unmistakably Sapling and follow along a consistent branding portfolio for all forms of media (graphic design, UI/UX, product identity, animations).

Creating content that earns engagement because it genuinely resonates with student life, not because it just follows a template.

Running social campaigns, tracking performance, and iterating based on what actually moves.

Helping define our brand voice from scratch while we’re still early enough for it to matter.

You might be a great fit if:

You have a portfolio that shows brand consistency across multiple formats (video, graphics, copy) and you can speak to the decisions behind it.

You genuinely understand what students find entertaining, relatable, and shareable online, because you live it.

You’ve edited video before and have a strong sense of pacing, hooks, and what makes content feel alive.

You follow trends closely but know when to lead instead of follow.

You’re comfortable with AI tools and curious about how they change creative workflows.

You want to build something real, not just fill a line on a resume.
