Ideastream Public Media is hiring: Associate Producer in Cleveland

Overview Ideastream Public Media, a Cleveland-based media organization and home to Ohio’s largest NPR, PBS, and classical radio stations, serves 22 counties in Northeast Ohio with its trusted, in-depth, high-quality local news and information service. We seek two passionate, self‑motivated, and efficient journalism professionals with a love for community and storytelling to serve as Associate Producers supporting the Sound of Ideas and Digital teams. Responsibilities As part of the Content team, the Associate Producers will help create and curate high‑quality content, projects, and events for the department. They will assist in researching, developing, and gathering news and information to create content for all delivery platforms. The roles include regularly contributing and developing stories and ideas, participating in editorial meetings, and gathering and editing reports for all platforms. The Sound of Ideas Associate Producer supports the morning public affairs news show while the Digital Associate Producer assists with the creation of content on web and digital platforms. Qualifications Qualified candidates have demonstrated proficiency in multiple media production techniques and technology, including experience creating content for radio, TV, and digital platforms, and using audio/video editing software, Microsoft Office Suite, and social media platforms. Strong verbal and written communication, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills are required, and candidates must be able to travel to reporting sites as needed. An associate’s degree and one year of experience working in a multime media content creation environment is preferred, though equivalent experience in related fields and education will be considered. Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this position is $43,000–$46,000, commensurate with experience.
