Colorblends Wholesale Flowerbulbs in Bridgeport, Connecticut has been importing spring-flowering bulbs (tulips, daffodils, etc.) for over 50 years. We market and sell to both commercial and residential customers. We are looking for a creative, dynamic person who will embrace our atypical approach to marketing and be passionate about engaging with our audiences. This new role will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that vary from season to season but are focused on promoting our product, with a special focus on owning and managing our social media channels. We want someone who continually seeks innovative ways to reach our audiences and turns the seasonal moments of our business into social media content.

Core Responsibilities Coordinate the team in developing marketing and sales strategies
Concept, shoot, edit, and publish content for multiple platforms
Schedule and post content throughout the year
Monitor sales and marketing results in social media and internal systems
Regularly report on marketing/sales statistics
Work as part of the customer service team, answering calls and selling product
Respond to direct messages, mentions, and comments on social media
Leverage customer insights and feedback to develop customer‑focused marketing strategies
Work on customer communications in support to find pain points to better develop FAQ systems
Sales outreach to both existing clients and new business opportunities
Maintain an updated competitor analysis
Provide company guidelines on content best practices (including video); help to develop the company’s brand voice
Collaborate with coworkers on other marketing channels (company website, marketing emails, digital advertising, and print catalog) and look for ways to enhance and incorporate video
Colorblends is a small company and a seasonal business. The main times for capturing content are the spring when flowers are blooming and the fall when bulbs are planted and orders go out. Local travel would be required during this time to various places, such as our trial gardens and display garden, with the possibility of traveling farther afield. In other seasons, work could be done on a hybrid basis.
This position is salaried with benefits (dependent on work schedule). Hours could be full or part‑time and flexible. A flexible part‑time option could be working full‑time for 10 months and taking 2 months off, or working 25‑30 hours a week all year round. The full‑time option would involve contributing to the business in other mutually beneficial areas of interest, such as SEO, Google Analytics, influencer management, website development, or other areas. Salary range is $50,000‑$90,000, commensurate with experience and prorated to the total annual hours in the case of the part‑time option.
Requirements Experience creating and managing social media content (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) in a professional setting
An understanding of the differences between social media platforms
Proven experience in content development; some experience with videography and short‑form video editing is preferred
Thorough understanding of the fundamentals of horticulture and gardening—knowledge of spring‑flowering bulbs is a plus
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
A drive to learn, experiment, and innovate
