Senior Employee Relations Specialist Production

The Human Resources team at Scout supports a bold, fast-growing organization redefining the electric pick-up truck and rugged SUV marketplace. The Production HR team partners closely with operations leadership to build a high-performing, compliant, and values-driven culture across the Production Center. The Senior Employee Relations Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the production workforce by leading complex employee relations matters, advising leaders, and ensuring consistent application of policies and workplace standards. The Senior Employee Relations Specialist serves as a subject matter expert in employee relations for Production Operations. This role independently manages complex and sensitive workplace matters, conducts investigations, provides strategic guidance to supervisors and managers, and ensures compliance with employment laws and company policies. This position operates with a high level of autonomy and judgment, partnering directly with production leadership and HR to proactively mitigate risk, strengthen leadership capability, and foster a respectful and accountable workplace environment. Employee Relations & Investigations Lead complex employee relations investigations involving allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, and policy violations. Conduct thorough interviews, gather and analyze evidence, document findings, and prepare investigation summaries with recommended actions. Provide expert guidance on corrective action, performance management, and terminations to ensure fairness and consistency. Ensure proper documentation and case management in alignment with company standards. Escalate high-risk matters to the VP of HR Production and/or Legal as appropriate. Leadership Partnership & Advisory Serve as a trusted advisor to supervisors and managers on employee relations matters, conflict resolution, and workplace best practices. Coach leaders on documentation, difficult conversations, attendance management, and performance improvement processes. Maintain regular presence on the production floor to proactively identify issues and build strong working relationships. Support workforce transitions and organizational changes within Production Operations. Compliance & Risk Mitigation Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws and company policies. Identify patterns and trends in employee relations cases and provide insights to HR leadership. Support audit readiness and maintain accurate, defensible documentation. Partner with HR Business Partners to address recurring workforce concerns and implement preventative solutions. Culture & Workforce Support Help promote a respectful, inclusive, and performance-driven culture within the production environment. Respond to employee questions regarding policies, procedures, and available resources. Support employee engagement initiatives and workforce communications. Contribute to the development and delivery of supervisor training on employee relations topics. Location & Travel Expectations This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina. This role requires daily attendance in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time. What you'll bring Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with significant focus on employee relations. HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred. Demonstrated experience leading workplace investigations and managing sensitive employee matters. Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws. Experience supporting hourly and/or manufacturing or production-based workforces strongly preferred. Excellent judgment, discretion, and ability to manage confidential matters. Strong written documentation and investigative skills. Ability to influence and coach front-line and mid-level leaders. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, onsite environment. Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc.
