A Global freight forwarding company is seeking an
Import / Export Logistics Agent
to join their office in Jamaica, NY area. The ideal candidate will have 1+ year of import/export operation experience and excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook). This is a full-time, direct hire position and 100% onsite work setting. Responsibilities of Import / Export Logistics Agent
: Hands on work in the warehouse handling various freight to be exported Processing Ocean Export shipments, Domestic transport, and Warehouse related shipments. Create reports of transactions to facilitate billing of customers and carriers Review, sort out and verify the information for any errors and discrepancy Ensure to book vessel or flight arrangement that will meet customer's requested ETA. Tracking/tracing of shipments and ensure cargo delivery is on schedule Cross-department communication and reporting how to utilize new database system and locate requested information Ensure that all physical documents are in proper order, scan, fax, and in correct files. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management Requirements of Import / Export Logistics Agent
: Associate of Arts degree; some college coursework preferred At least 1-2 years of industry experience is preferred Forklift certification is an asset Must be proficient using Microsoft Office Suite and ERP experience will be big plus Any Asian language skills will be an asset (Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc) Able to be flexible and able to work in a multicultural environment responsibly and effectively Hands on warehouse work experience will be big plus Must be strong with numbers and math While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 30 pounds, lift in excess of 30 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear.
