Trading Position at Luminant Energy Company LLC
This full-time position supports the company's environmental trading activities through market execution, pricing analysis, hedge implementation, and portfolio optimization across environmental and related energy products in CAISO, PJM, MISO, ERCOT, NYISO, and ISONE. The role is expected to identify trading strategies while partnering with power trading desk and retail sales team. The role is responsible for executing trades and providing commercial acumen for a portfolio that cost of 10M RECs retired and 13M CO2 allowances on an annual basis. Key Accountabilities
Execute trading activity across environmental products (RECs, CO2, SO2, NOx, EFECs) Monitor market prices, liquidity, regulatory developments, supply-demand fundamentals, and competitive dynamics affecting environmental positions. Assist in the retirement of RECs and emissions credits Maintain position tracking, pricing models, exposure reporting, and market recaps. Work with Government Affairs to track and assess regulatory and legislative changes affecting environmental products and communicate commercial implications to the broader team. Support retails green product offering by providing commercial acumen and pricing non-standard environmental products Support process improvements in reporting, analytics, and trading desk workflows. Education, Experience & Skill Requirements
3+ years of relevant experience in environmental markets, energy trading, commodity trading, risk, or commercial market analysis. Direct experience in RECs, carbon, emissions products, or regulated environmental programs Experience trading/supporting/analyzing environmental products or related energy commodities. Strong understanding of commodity markets, market drivers, and trade execution processes. Familiarity with hedging concepts, and exposure to swaps and options. Strong communication and commercial decision-making skills. Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, energy management, environmental studies, or a related field. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and market reporting tools. Key Metrics
