About this Role VacationRenter is seeking a Senior Product Designer to help shape the future of travel by designing intuitive, high-quality experiences across our platform. This role is pivotal in delivering seamless, user-centered products that directly impact how millions of travelers discover and book accommodations.

You’ll join a highly collaborative team of product designers, product managers, and engineers who work closely from ideation through execution. We value early collaboration, open feedback, and a strong commitment to craft. This is a strategic and execution-focused role for someone who can own design initiatives end-to-end while contributing to broader product and business outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines strong visual and interaction design skills with a deep understanding of user behavior, product strategy, and system thinking. This is an opportunity to have meaningful ownership and influence across web, iOS, and Android experiences.

This role will report directly to Product leadership. This is a full-time hybrid position, based in Dallas.

Role & Responsibilities

Lead mobile-first design initiatives, crafting intuitive, high-quality experiences across iOS, Android, and mobile web that feel native, performant, and cohesive

Design end-to-end product experiences from concept to launch leveraging design thinking to influence product strategy and business outcomes across web, iOS and Android platforms

Translate complex user needs into intuitive, polished UI considering every interaction, animation, and transition

Contribute to and scale a living design system, including component libraries, tokens, and documentation

Champion a user-centered design process, advocating for research‑backed decisions across the org

Collaborate on content strategy including information architecture, UX copy, and content hierarchy

Plan and conduct UX research (interviews, usability tests, surveys) and synthesize findings into actionable insights

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking and exceptional execution

Senior‑level experience with proven track record of leading complex, high‑impact product initiatives

Experience working on consumer‑facing products with significant user impact

Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Photoshop, or similar

Strong understanding of design systems, accessibility, and responsive design principles

Ability to proactively seek, absorb, and act on feedback to drive high-quality outcomes

Demonstrated success managing multiple workstreams and reprioritizing effectively in a fast‑moving environment

Excellent communication skills and ability to present and defend design decisions

Portfolio demonstrating strong design thinking and execution required

Preferred Qualifications & Prior Experience

Strong eye for brand cohesion and understanding of the difference between creative expression and brand integrity

Prior startup experience working at an early‑stage company

Background in the travel industry

Comfortable experimenting with new AI capabilities while maintaining a critical eye for quality and craft

Cross‑functional collaboration skills with proven ability to work effectively with Engineering, PM, and other disciplines

Comfortable moving fluidly between ambiguity and execution

In‑house product experience required; startup experience is a plus
