Marketing Specialist (ACPE) – Anchorage, AK
Position Overview:
The Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education (ACPE) is recruiting a Marketing Specialist to join our Communications and Outreach team. The successful applicant will create marketing content for ACPE’s education loans, scholarship and grant programs, and Outreach resources; manage all ACPE social media platforms; and develop strategic stakeholder content to inform and improve awareness in support of ACPE’s Strategic Plan, Mission, and Vision.
Job Type:
Full time, Remote/Hybrid, Located in Anchorage, AK.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of:
Marketing elements such as SEO, social media, and marketing research methods
State and national higher‑education trends
State and national social‑media trends and implementation
Education challenges and barriers for low‑income and first‑generation college students, especially in Alaska’s rural communities and native populations
Skills in:
Effective written and oral communication, including summaries and analyses of complex information
Building and maintaining professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Prioritizing, persuasion, and negotiation
Problem identification and resolution
Microsoft Office proficiency
Adobe Creative Suite
Developing and maintaining partner relationships
Interpreting communications and applying appropriate policies, regulations, and laws
Abilities to:
Perform high‑level data analysis, identify trends, and develop charts/graphs
Develop strategic content and schedule implementation
Manage content and agency engagement
Coordinate inter‑agency and external stakeholder campaigns
Take initiative and develop ideas with supervisor and co‑workers
Represent ACPE, its programs, and partners professionally and accurately
Articulate the value of postsecondary education
Collaborate across agency marketing/outreach and external stakeholders in support of ACPE’s strategic plan
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related marketing/communications field or four years of relevant professional experience
Directly relevant experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year‑by‑year basis, with preference for those meeting the degree requirement
