
Claims Representative
Optum, San Diego, CA, United States
Location: OptumHealth Public Sector, 3131 Camino Del Rio North, Suite 700, San Diego, CA 92108.
This is a hybrid schedule position requiring onsite days and home days. Full‑time (40 hours/week), Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm PST. Overtime may be required as business needs arise.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide expertise or general claims support by reviewing, researching, investigating, negotiating, processing, and adjusting claims.
Analyze and identify trends and provide reports as necessary.
Consistently meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
1+ years of experience in a related environment (e.g., office, administrative, clerical, customer service), using phones and computers as primary job tools.
Experience using computers and Windows‑based applications, with the ability to learn new complex systems.
1+ years of experience using Microsoft Office applications.
1+ years of experience processing medical, dental, prescription, or mental health claims.
Ability to work full‑time (40 hours/week), Monday‑Friday, with flexibility for 8‑hour shift schedules during 8:00am‑5:00pm PST.
Telecommuting Requirements
Reside within commutable distance to the office at OptumHealth Public Sector in San Diego.
Maintain a secure work area that is separate from other living areas and provides privacy.
Prove ability to keep company sensitive documents secure.
Have a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group‑approved high‑speed internet connection.

Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $17.98 - $32.12 per hour for full‑time employment based on local labor markets, education, experience, and certifications. Benefits include a comprehensive package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401(k) contributions, subject to eligibility. Salary is compliant with all applicable minimum wage laws.
