Electrical BIM Designer

Position Overview The Electrical BIM Designer will design documentation and manage Revit BIM models alongside other discipline BIM leads and team members. The role involves creating fully coordinated 3D models and 2D construction drawings using Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD, while ensuring compliance with Jacobs and client BIM standards. The designer will work under the direction of electrical discipline or project leads, collaborating with other designers, discipline leads, architects and engineers.

Location Available at any U.S. location; candidates should ideally be near a Jacobs U.S. based office but the “best” candidates will be hired.

Required Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent

At least 3 years of BIM design experience

At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry

A growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions

A growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function

Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment

Experience following client design and modeling standards

Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark‑ups and/or verbal direction requests

Willingness to learn new things

Preferred Qualifications

At least 3 years of Revit and/or AutoCAD design experience

Understanding of data center environments

Knowledge and design experience with power, cable routing, and lighting systems

Knowledge of electrical systems and one‑line diagrams

Compensation The base salary range for this position is $66,000.00 to $90,800.00; pay is hourly based on hours worked and is determined by work location and other factors such as skills, experience, and education.
