Overview *Hybrid-remote opportunity for candidates geographically located within an hour drive of Houston, Texas with a willingness to work on-site one to two days per week.

We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Solutions Architect with an expertise in Datacenter Infrastructure Presales to support enterprise and upper mid-market customers by designing modern data center solutions across compute, storage, virtualization, and hybrid infrastructure platforms. As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will support enterprise and upper mid-market customers by designing modern data center solutions across compute, storage, virtualization, and hybrid infrastructure platforms. This role operates as a territory-aligned architect, partnering closely with Account Executives to shape opportunities, lead technical discovery, and develop architectures that drive customer outcomes.

Your Impact

Provide technical expertise to sales teams and customers on designated solution focus area

Establish credibility and trusted advisor status with ePlus’ sales team and customers

Conduct customer facing presentations on ePlus’ core competencies and technical solution offerings for accounts and focus areas

Assist sales team with overall account planning as it relates to technical aspects of hardware, software, and services opportunity qualification and development

Complete and author technical sections for RFP/RFI/RFQ responses

Assist sales team with identifying and capturing customer business and technical requirements during the sales cycle and determining ePlus’ recommended solution

Develop and finalize solution architecture/design and detailed line-item configurations and/or bill-of-materials (BOMs)

Develop and finalize solution proposals and/or presentation of recommended solutions leveraging the breadth of the ePlus portfolio of Data Center, Cloud, and AI products and services

Lead technical scoping/reviews with sales team, delivery team, and customers to develop a Statement of Work (SOW) for complex multi-faceted solutions

Function as a subject matter expert (SME) for customer technical staff regarding proposed solution and its design and implementation specifics

Function as technical liaison and ePlus ambassador with field OEM channel sales and technical teams

Conduct knowledge transfers with solution architect colleagues and service delivery team regarding solution and OEM product updates/changes, lessons learned from previous engagements/experience, etc., as relevant

Identify product or services candidates to sales and services management as new solution areas for ePlus to potentially development or investment

Stay current with Data Center, Cloud and AI technologies to identify product or services to sales and services management as new solution areas for ePlus to potentially develop

Complete training, per development plan, and maintain certifications in accordance with focus area

Be proactive in highlighting and suggesting areas for improvement in the regional procedures, structure, reporting, etc.

Ensure appropriate coverage for in-process and new solution sales cycle opportunities while out of office for training, vacation, PTO, etc.

Participate in weekly presales engineering conference calls

Complete administrative tasks (expenses, time reporting, pipeline) in a timely fashion

Qualifications Job Knowledge/Skills

Experience designing and supporting enterprise data center solutions across multiple infrastructure platforms including compute, storage, virtualization, and hybrid cloud environments.

Strong experience with modern data center technologies, including but not limited to:

Storage Platforms:

Pure Storage, NetApp, Dell

Compute Platforms:

Cisco UCS, Dell

Hyperconverged Infrastructure:

Nutanix

Virtualization Technologies:

VMware vSphere, AHV, Hyper-V

Familiarity with cloud and hybrid infrastructure platforms, including AWS, Azure, and Microsoft 365 / Office 365 environments.

Working knowledge of data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity architectures and associated technologies.

Experience integrating multi-vendor infrastructure solutions into cohesive enterprise architectures.

Ability to lead technical discovery sessions, architecture workshops, and whiteboard discussions with customers to identify business and technical requirements.

Experience supporting technical presales engagements, including solution design, technical validation, and customer presentations.

Ability to compare and position competing infrastructure technologies and articulate architectural trade-offs to customers.

Experience identifying professional services opportunities, including infrastructure migrations, platform modernization, and implementation considerations.

Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and business stakeholders.

Excellent customer engagement skills, both in person and virtually, with the ability to build trusted advisor relationships.

Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional and matrixed environments, collaborating with sales, engineering, services, and vendor partners.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create clear technical documentation, proposals, and architecture designs.

Ability to analyze complex technical challenges and develop practical solution approaches quickly and accurately.

Capable of operating effectively as an individual contributor while also mentoring junior engineers and contributing to technical leadership within the team.

Experience working within a value-added reseller (VAR), systems integrator, consulting firm, or vendor presales organization is highly desirable.

Education and Experience

Certifications in applicable technology preferred

College degree or applicable work experience

Two or more years of experience in designing or implementing storage solutions

Three or more years of experience in providing presales engineering support

Design or engineering of systems/storage solutions, preferably with one or more of: Nutanix, NetApp, Pure, VMWare

Position Specifics The base salary range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $120,000 and $170,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions and discretionary bonuses, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and personal leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
