Description The Director – Financial Institutions Group, within the Corporate Bank, will be an integral component to the build out of the Financial Institutions vertical at Huntington Bank. The individual will serve as the lead relationship contact in understanding customer needs and meeting them through the execution of various bank products, services, and solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Establish a trusted brand in the market with customers and prospects across the financial institutions sector.

Develop new-to-firm (N2F) relationships and new-to-existing (N2E) business through thoughtful sector‑specific advice and solutions.

Deliver the bank’s broad suite of products and solutions to deepen customer relationships and advance relationship returns.

Promote an in‑depth understanding of the bank’s product suite across credit and finance, capital markets, risk management (IRD, Rates and Commodities), liquidity, treasury management, and wealth management.

Manage the creditworthiness of the portfolio and its risks; work with internal colleagues to identify and act on risk in real time.

Lead the direction of the overall portfolio of clients and prospects to align with the organization’s culture, risk framework, strategic roadmap, and revenue goals.

Participate in sector conferences and networking events to keep a pulse on market intelligence and sector trends.

Foster strong relationships with colleagues across the organization to best meet the financial needs of clients and drive a culture of inclusion.

Keep management informed on all core facets of the bank, portfolio, client relationships, and the competitive environment.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

5 or more years in financial institutions corporate banking or related corporate banking fields.

5 or more years of business development experience in the banking industry.

Series 79 and 63 (or equivalent) required or obtained within 120 days or at start date.

Preferred Qualifications

Proven ability to lead strategic client dialogue and business development efforts.

Knowledge of all bank products and continual development of product expertise.

Proficiency in credit fundamentals and ability to determine appropriate risks on new and prospective customers and transactions to develop relationships in strategic alignment with the bank’s risk profile, including front‑end guidance.

Experience in multiple sub‑sectors of financial institutions: insurance, asset management, RIA’s, broker‑dealers, financial technology, specialty, and lender finance.

Workplace Type Office. Certain positions outside the branch network may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement. We combine the best of both worlds: in‑office and work from home. Remote roles will also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for moments that matter.

Compensation Range $102,000.00 – $208,000.00 annual salary. The range represents the low and high end of the base compensation for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, and performance. Colleagues are also eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan and a benefit package that includes health insurance, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays, and paid time off.

Exempt Status Yes – not eligible for overtime pay; No – eligible for overtime pay.
