The Mgr Strategy & Market Intelligence will lead a team in market intelligence and forecasts with a detailed understanding of our business and multiple market factors that influence commodity pricing. This role will supervise a team that develops extensive short, medium, and long term supply and demand fundamental forecasts for key markets: the use of aggregated information to develop our commodity pricing point-of-view (POV), fundamental supply and demand proprietary view (PV), and present outlooks. The Manager will be a liaison to senior leadership on market intelligence, creation of our PV and POV, and other critical ad hoc analysis. Partnering with our commercial and FP&A teams to provide critical and timely long range plan analysis and forming views that impact existing business and strategic business opportunities are keys to success.

Responsibilities/Expectations

Applies expertise and research to create detailed supply/demand and pricing fundamental analysis forecasts.

Identifies trends or risks before widespread knowledge or acceptance from consultants or competitors

Leads a team to provide updated analysis on specific market indicators that will affect our business outlook, in support of the annual strategic process

Contributes to tactical and strategic market intelligence efforts with focus on supply and demand analysis, project and competitive intelligence, enterprise strategy, and risk analyses

Serves as a key contributor for the commodity pricing point of view (POV) process for a variety of key indicators

Drives the POV creation by extrapolating important trends from gathered market intelligence data and proposing forecasts that take into account the dynamic marketplace

Serves as an integrated analyst for our commercial and business development teams to develop competitor analysis, takeaway capacity, supply/demand propriety view, and other ad hoc analysis

Leads a team of analysts responsible for our fundamental Proprietary View, Commodity Point of View and Strategy Process

Education / Years of Experience

Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering; a minimum of ten (10) years of related experience

Preferred: Master's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering; a minimum of fifteen (15) years of related experience

Other Requirements

Demonstrates outstanding organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills

Possesses a detailed understanding of market factors that influence commodity pricing, supply, demand, seasonality, regulations, and international trade

Prior experience in advising and presenting to executives, strong communication skills, adherence to deadlines, and ability to manage a project team

Depth and breadth of understanding of the hydrocarbon industry

Experience and comfort in working with higher-level management

Broad knowledge of our business, customers and competitors

Experience in giving presentations as an expert in a field of business

Project economics or supply/demand modeling experience

Experience in developing a market outlook for natural gas fundamentals and pricing
