Sales Engineer / Senior Sales Engineer Fluence Energy is seeking a Sales Engineer/Senior Sales Engineer for Battery Energy Storage. The role involves providing technical support to sales teams, understanding energy storage technology, negotiating specifications, and developing cost estimates for projects.

Location Hybrid schedule – 2–3 days in office per week. Locations: Arlington, VA; Alpharetta, GA; Houston, TX; Mountain View, CA.

Position Details Full‑time, hybrid work model. Technical lead throughout the sales process for large and challenging projects, collaborating with Product, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Project Execution teams.

Responsibilities

Develop a deep understanding of Fluence energy‑storage technology platforms and provide sales teams with technical support and product configuration guidance for equipment‑only and turnkey sales.

Review, understand, and negotiate detailed technical specifications for core energy storage and BOP scope (MV, HV, and civil).

Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for new sales.

Lead technical aspects of contract negotiations – scope, schedule, and performance guarantees.

Assist in developing sales tools and support materials to streamline and grow sales.

Capture customer technical and application requirements to help shape product roadmaps.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred).

3–10 years’ work experience in energy storage, solar, or other power generation.

For a Senior Sales Engineer: 5+ years’ experience in energy storage, solar, or other power generation and at least 2 years of grid‑scale energy storage experience.

Ability to solve complex technical problems and communicate results.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Experience with contract negotiations and familiarity with key contract areas.

Knowledge of applicable standards, codes, and regulations.

Entrepreneurial drive and ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in parallel.

Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.

Compensation $114,000 – $180,000 a year. Actual compensation within the posted range will be determined based on experience level and location.
