The Role We are seeking a highly strategic and analytical Senior Director to lead our Strategy and Market Research function within the Commercialization team. This B2B‑focused, North America‑focused role will drive corporate strategy, competitive intelligence, and primary market research initiatives to shape Samsung Ads’ market position and revenue‑driving strategies. The ideal candidate will excel in executive engagement, cross‑functional collaboration, and delivering customer‑centric solutions across the full Services portfolio (advertising, partnerships, new concepts, Samsung TV+, etc).
This leader will be responsible for working closely with Business Development, Product Managers, BD/Partnerships, Sales, and GTM partners to translate Samsung Ads’ goals into tactical, actionable revenue‑driving strategies. The role requires strong critical thinking and managing a significant amount of executive deliverables, while also building new pilot practices (Voice of Customer) and programs for Samsung (Customer Councils, testing programs, etc). This leader should be well‑versed in strategic frameworks, coaching senior executives and board members on decision‑making, sizing and making recommendations on new, blue‑sky opportunities, and monitoring / evaluating the current solution set.
Role Objectives and Impact The primary goal of this role is to identify and develop unique, only‑at‑Samsung solutions that leverage Samsung’s data, tools, audience, and footprint to create cohesive, strategic, and must‑buy B2B offerings. This leader will play a pivotal role in shaping Samsung Services’ market position, defining and strengthening the company’s competitive advantages, and providing executives with clear industry insights and actionable recommendations.
Key Expertise and Approach This leader will possess deep expertise in advertising and business development/partnerships, with a strong understanding of the digital and programmatic landscape. They will bring a measured, structured approach to problem‑solving and opportunity identification, ensuring strategies are both innovative and operationally feasible. What You’ll Do
B2B Strategy Leadership: Develop and execute corporate strategy for Samsung’s cross‑portfolio offerings, including B2B Advertising, Strategic Partnerships, New Concept Development, Samsung TV+, and Gaming.
Market Positioning: Define and strengthen Samsung Ads’ competitive advantages, advising executives on industry trends and strategic recommendations.
Voice of Customer (VoC): Build and operationalize pilot practices (e.g., Customer Councils, Design Partner Programs) to gather and translate customer feedback into actionable strategies.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with Business Development, Product Managers, BD/Partnerships, Sales, and GTM teams to bring offerings from launch to successful, must‑buy solutions.

Required Qualifications
Experience: 12+ years in corporate strategy, equities research, VC, market research, or related fields, with a focus on advertising, media, or B2B technology.
Skills: Expertise in CTV/media/advertising landscape (e.g. programmatic, retail media networks, B2B tech, measurement, partnerships, licensing, etc); deep knowledge of video solutions and B2B partnerships; strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence senior executives.
Customer Focus: Obsessed with collecting and representing the Voice of the Customer (VoC); experience in qualitative and quantitative research.
Executive Presence: Proficient in data analysis, market research, and crafting executive narratives.
Framework‑driven and principled approach: Evaluate new media and partnership opportunities (e.g. new products, new offerings, new business models, new geographies, etc).
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (product, marketing, business, media, etc)
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience with leading media/CTV/OTT advertising platforms (e.g., Meta, Netflix, Google, Amazon, Roku, Disney, Trade Desk, etc).
Consulting, VC, or equity research experience in tech, media, or telecom.
Familiarity with Samsung Ads products (programmatic/direct offerings, device capabilities, Samsung TV+).
Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple deliverables under tight deadlines.
Strong Operator: Exceptionally organized and capable of managing a variety of deliverables with tight timelines for executives
Additional Information
Travel: This role may require occasional domestic or international travel (up to 15%) for internal and external meetings.
For candidates based in New York NY, the salary range for this role is expected to be between $260,000 and $290,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role
