Position Overview The Director of Sales manages relationships to grow existing major accounts and utilizes effective sales techniques to develop new accounts. This position may oversee high‑profile brands and may also manage Account Executives and/or Associate Account Executives.
Essential Role Functions
Develops and implements business plans for accounts to achieve sales and profitability goals.
Works closely with Merchandising and Design on determining trends, working on design direction for assigned brands, and assortment planning.
Develops and maintains favorable relationships with new and existing clients to foster collaboration and strengthen partnerships.
Develops and manages new products, brands, or categories based on market trends and customer needs analysis; builds a business case to support viability of proposals.
Collaborates and shares information with the Account Management team and other departments regarding emerging industry developments and competitor intelligence.
Works with the Forecasting team on seasonal forecasts to ensure appropriate inventory levels are supported.
Mentors and trains Associate Account Executives and Accounts Executives in account management and sales skills regardless of reporting structure.
Performs miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent degree/experience
At least 5 years of Sales or Buying experience
Retail buying office or vendor/wholesale industry experience (preferred)
Technical Skills
Proficient understanding and execution of Retail Math
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Outlook proficiency
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to analyze and interpret information promptly

Excellent problem‑solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additional Qualifications
Ability to travel frequently (25–30%), including domestic and international travel
Previous overseas travel experience (preferred)

Ability to represent the company at industry functions, community events, and business dinners
