
Policy & Advocacy Fellow (DGR)

Role
Policy & Advocacy Intern at Save the Children. Integral support to policy teams on nutrition, health, education, child protection. Engage Congress, administration, agencies locally and internationally.

Hybrid – Washington, DC office location
Essential Duties
Conduct policy research on issues impacting children.
Monitor legislative and policy developments within priority issue areas.
Research government stakeholders, including Members of Congress and the administration, to assess alignment with Save the Children’s positions.
Research and write fact sheets, policy briefs, talking points and other communications materials.
Assist with preparation for events and meetings.
Accompany staff to congressional hearings, coalition meetings, and other engagements.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Actively enrolled in an associate, bachelor’s or master’s degree program, or having graduated within six months of the start date.
Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
Professional proficiency in MS Office suite.
Ability to communicate professionally and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent writing and research skills.
Strong interest in global development, humanitarian, and/or domestic policy issues.
Demonstrated success providing excellent customer service.
