Automation Specialist (Open)
Location: Tulsa, OK - Peoria - Cust. installations, Little Rock, AR - Retail shop, Oklahoma City, OK (AMG) - ASU
As an
Automation Specialist , you will be responsible for the installation, service, and maintenance of CNC plasma and arc welding robotic systems, specifically those utilizing Hypertherm cutting systems and robotic arms from OTC and Yaskawa.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and program CNC plasma cutting equipment and arc welding robotic systems.
Collaborate with Account Managers to promote and sell preventative maintenance and service contracts.
Develop estimates, quotes, and proposals for service and preventative maintenance.
Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC plasma and robotic systems, including:
Electrical and electronic components (sensors, motors, drives)
Mechanical components (gears, bearings, linkages)
Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Hypertherm cutting systems and their associated components
Diagnose and repair system malfunctions, including software and hardware issues related to both robotic systems and Hypertherm cutting equipment.
Provide on‑site training to customers.
Generate service reports and maintain accurate records of work performed.
Collaborate with the sales force to foster the growth of gas and welding supply sales within established accounts.
Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
Travel to customer sites as required.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry advancements, including updates on Hypertherm cutting systems and robotic technologies from OTC and Yaskawa.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience with Hypertherm cutting systems is highly preferred.
Understanding of robotic programming languages with a preference for experience with OTC or Yaskawa robot controllers.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with welding processes is a plus.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair electromechanical systems.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Willingness to travel.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
Ability to stand, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
Ability to work in confined spaces.
