Our client,
an American retailer that owns and operates 4 brands that are well known,
is looking for someone to join their team as a
Technical Designer .
This role is onsite in San Francisco, California.
*This is 7-month W2 contract*
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the garments meet established fit standards, quality expectations, manufacturer capabilities, and cost targets while preserving design intent.
What You Will Be Doing Develop and maintain technical specifications and fit standards across assigned product categories Communicate clearly with vendors and factories to review approvals and implement corrections Partner cross-functionally with Design, Product Development, and Production teams to maintain integrity of approved prototypes Make appropriate adjustments with factories to ensure fit accuracy while supporting cost targets Monitor garment construction quality throughout the development lifecycle Support and help guide Assistant Technical Designers when applicable
Required Skills & Experience 3+ years of similar experience Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Apparel Development, or equivalent experience Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern evaluation, and fit standards Experience developing technical specifications and managing vendor communications Ability to balance design intent, manufacturing capability, and cost considerations Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally
