**Job Summary:**
Responsible for creating marketing materials, digital communications, and community engagement initiatives for the Parks & Recreation Department. The Marketing Coordinator manages social media content, website content, digital marketing campaigns, analytics, and promotional materials to increase awareness and participation in department programs, services, and events. The position collaborates with department staff and community partners to support strategic marketing efforts, enhance community engagement, and maintain brand consistency across all communication channels. Provides administrative support to the Parks and Recreation Department. Position allows for moderate discretion and works under general supervision.* Updates Department website as needed;* Creates social media content for Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, including reels, images, and written content; posts daily messages and responds to inquiries on social media;* Prepares and coordinates various documents including press releases, flyers, news stories, annual reports, Activity Guide publications, and award nominations;* Prepares and distributes flyers regarding upcoming events;* Plans, creates, and executes targeted email marketing campaigns to drive engagement and results;* Creates and sends monthly e-newsletters;* Documents events, ribbon cuttings, other activities via photography, graphic design, and/or videography;* Monitors market research on industry trends and customer behavior to help guide marketing strategy and campaigns for promoting events, activities, sports, etc.;* Proactively identifies and secures marketing and promotional opportunities, including digital marketing initiatives, to expand community awareness and engagement;* Ensures all content aligns with Parks & Recreation brand voice, messaging, and visual guidelines, as well as ADA standards;* Collects and analyzes monthly metrics from Google Analytics, social media dashboards, and email platforms for internal reporting and insight;* Coordinates with department staff to determine and prioritize marketing needs;* Manages a monthly content calendar for recreation coordinators to communicate their marketing needs;* Coordinates department activities and events, submitting as appropriate for publication in community calendars;* Serves as the Community Calendar administrator;* Collaborates with community partners on events and initiatives;* Develops and maintains relationships with media providers. Handles media promotion for events and activities, such as speaking on radio broadcasts or with TV news outlets; coordinates interviews with subject media experts in the department as needed;* Coordinates department presentations with outside organizations such as Kiwanis, Rotary, Lions, and other service organizations;* Presents to and works with the Parks & Recreation Commission monthly;* Provides necessary research and analysis information for department needs;* May be required to handle sensitive public relations situations or other issues with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality;* Manages incoming calls by screening, routing, and taking messages.* Other duties as assigned.**Job Specifications:*** High school diploma or equivalent plus 3 years marketing support experience, or any combination of experience or training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work required;* Associates degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred.**Licensing & Certifications:*** Possession of valid State of Idaho driver’s license and safe driving record (within 30 days after start date).If you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!
