Who We Are
Engen Contracting, Inc (ECI) builds commercial structures ranging from $1.5M to $10M, including ground‑up Retail, Restaurants, Self‑Storage, Office‑Warehouses, Medical, General Office, and Child Development projects. Based in Austin, Texas, with projects throughout Central Texas and other major markets.
We seek a committed, hardworking Commercial Construction Lead Superintendent with vertical ground‑up and remodel experience, ready to join an innovative team of trendsetters in modern construction methodologies.
The Ideal Commercial Construction Lead Superintendent
Attention to detail
Project scheduling – maintain weekly updates; MS Projects experience a plus
OSHA 30‑hour trained/certified (preferred)
Safety enforcement, weekly on‑site toolbox meetings
Use Procore to complete daily reports, monitor conversations, and take daily photos
Coordinate inspections
Generate and complete punch lists
Subcontractor change‑order verification and validate labor/material projections
Clear and assertive communication with owners, architects, and consultants
Problem‑solver with proactive mentality, fully embracing challenges to develop solutions
Maintain ethical business practices
Experience with city building and development departments
Interpret blueprints and coordinate architecture, structural, and MEP designs for alignment
Contact and schedule subcontractors, motivating them to meet plans & specifications
Knowledge of horizontal and vertical construction, including cut‑and‑fill, utilities, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing applications
Dependable transportation
Willing to work after hours when necessary
Organize and conduct weekly on‑site subcontractor meetings covering safety practices, schedule, and quality control
Collaborate with office staff; respond to emails in a timely manner
Be available, punctual, and accountable for meetings and requests
Important
No alcohol or drugs in the workplace
Acceptable background checks & drug tests are a condition of hire
ECI conducts a personality assessment to ensure cultural fit
Must have a valid Texas driver’s license (out‑of‑state residents have 60 days to obtain one)
Position intended for a long‑term relationship; no traveling required
ECI does not sponsor employment visas (e.g., H‑1B)
Only candidates with commercial construction experience will be considered; residential or multi‑family‑only construction experience is not eligible
