Data Center Multi Skilled Operator II - HVAC & Mechanical Specialist We are seeking a hands‑on Multi‑Skilled Operator II – HVAC & Mechanical Specialist to support data center facility operations in Lenoir, NC. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and control systems critical to reliable facility performance.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and mechanical systems supporting data center operations

Maintain and troubleshoot RTUs, package units, refrigeration systems, and cooling towers

Monitor and maintain temperature and humidity levels critical to data center performance

Inspect, clean, and replace filters, coils, belts, motors, and mechanical components

Perform hands‑on work including cooling tower cleaning, mechanical room maintenance, and heavy‑duty equipment upkeep

Diagnose HVAC and mechanical issues and coordinate vendor support when needed

Electrical & Controls Support

Perform minor electrical maintenance related to HVAC and mechanical systems

Troubleshoot control systems, sensors, motors, relays, and basic electrical components

Assist with system monitoring, alarms, and equipment diagnostics

Support maintenance and troubleshooting of building and HVAC control systems

Ensure all electrical and control work is performed safely and in compliance with site standards

Mechanical Systems & Facility Support

Support plumbing, piping, and condensate systems across the facility

Assist with equipment installs, repairs, and mechanical upgrades

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on facility systems

Maintain accurate maintenance records and parts inventory

Coordinate with vendors and site leadership on repairs and projects

Emergency Response & Safety

Respond quickly to HVAC, mechanical, and electrical emergencies to minimize downtime

Provide after‑hours on‑call support as required

Follow OSHA and site safety procedures at all times

Maintain clean and organized work areas and mechanical spaces

Support seasonal maintenance and operational readiness planning

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of HVAC and mechanical maintenance experience (data center or industrial environment preferred)

Experience with RTUs, package units, refrigeration systems, cooling towers, plumbing, and piping

Basic electrical and controls troubleshooting experience required

Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform hands‑on facility work

Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, or data center environments preferred

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong communication and problem‑solving skills

Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards

Willingness to work overtime, on‑call, and respond to emergencies

Preferred Qualifications

Strong electrical and controls awareness

Comfortable working in cooling towers, mechanical rooms, and industrial environments

Safety‑focused and reliable

Team player who takes ownership of site operations

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.

Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment

Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments

Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks

Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly

Ability to move quickly and efficiently within various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.

Good hand‑eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors

Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses

Ability to differentiate between color‑coded warning signs, labels, and cables

Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow

Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection

Possession of a valid driver’s license for work‑related travel, as required

High School Diploma or GED Required

Compensation & Benefits Disclosure The base pay range for this role is $32.00 - $34.00 per hour. This range reflects a good‑faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire, based on factors such as skills, experience, education, and market/location. Our comprehensive benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, Health Savings Account (HSA), gym discount, mental health, Discounted Group Life & AD&D, Discounted Group Short & Long‑term Disability, 401(k) retirement matching, PTO/paid holidays, and parental leave. Final compensation will be determined by job‑related factors consistent with applicable law.

Location On Site in Lenoir, NC

Hours Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm | Flexibility is required based on client needs and may include evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
