JOB DESCRIPTION RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with candidate, consultants, and stakeholders to develop and disseminate campaign message

Manage social media calendar and monitor engagement

Work with the finance team to create engaging and effective fundraising content

Lead the campaign’s rapid response operation, including writing and sending press releases, op-eds, talking points, and responding to breaking news in real-time.

Work closely with the campaign consultants to comprehend and turn research findings into press pitches, releases, social media content, earned media, ad backup documents, etc.

Prepare and provide talking points, background materials, and other relevant written materials for relevant campaign staff, volunteers, and partners

Serve as the on-the-record spokesperson for the campaign, while developing and maintaining relationships with key in-state and national press

APPLICANT QUALITIES

Strong interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Excellent communication and writing skills

Willingness to take initiative and find creative solutions

Experience with political campaigns and/or related office experience

Proficiency in common computer programs like Excel, Word and Google Docs

EXCEPTIONALLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE

Previous on-the-record experience with a campaign or committee

Working knowledge of Wisconsin press corps

A valid driver’s license and access to reliable, insured transportation
