General Summary This entry level position will focus on learning the Telecommunication trade. This includes but is not limited to: Assisting in the installation and maintenance of outside plant (OSP) copper and fiber optic facilities and associated OSP telecommunications equipment, installation and troubleshooting of customer premise equipment (CPE), telephone, WIFI, wiring, peripherals, and hardware/software.

Essential Job Functions / Certifications

Reclaim construction area to company standards.

Utilize locating equipment and follow the basic 8 cable location procedures to ensure accurate, quality locates. Marks facilities according to State dig‑line standards.

Maintain locate system upkeep and functionality.

Ability to work with others to ensure OSP facilities are maintained to RUS and telecom industry standards.

Ability to navigate and interpret standard telecommunication prints and mapping.

Respond to trouble tickets within acceptable company timeframe standards.

Complete inventory replenishment requests as needed.

Keep service truck clean, organized and stocked with required inventory to perform job duties.

Meet documentation accuracy and timeframe standards for closing work orders, inventory audits, timesheets.

Perform duties related to FCC regulation compliance and NEC compliances. Promote and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

Assist with campus facilities maintenance such as snow removal, grounds maintenance, etc.

Preventative maintenance projects – i.e. battery replacements.

Adhere to company mission and culture, corporate policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education Requirements

High School Diploma required.

Ability to hold a valid Wyoming or Idaho Driver's License.

Working Conditions Work generally will be accomplished in an office setting. Some travel may be required. Work hours are generally 20‑40 hours per week depending on classification.
