Position Summary
Porter – Building (1090 Amsterdam Avenue – WST, Mount Sinai West). Full‑time, evening shift, 4 pm–12 am. Responsibilities include overall cleaning of apartments and common areas and assistance with maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
Assist Superintendent and Handyperson with repairs as needed.
Assist with emergency work and special assignments designated by the Superintendent.
Perform general cleaning of vacant apartments in preparation for new tenants.
Clean appliances (stove, refrigerator, etc.) after tenant move‑out.
Clean common areas of building, including sweeping and mopping floors in hallways, lobby areas and laundry room facilities.
Gather and dispose of all garbage and recyclables in designated sidewalk locations for Department of Sanitation pickup.
Maintain a neat appearance and wear uniform at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent GED.
Good command of English (read, write, and understand instructions).
Some general work experience (preferred).
Compensation Salary range: $32.017 – $32.017 hourly. Actual salary depends on experience, education, and operational need. Salary does not include bonuses, incentives, or other benefits.
