LOCATION OF WORK:
12001 Bus. Blvd. #123, Eagle River, Alaska 99577
Employees who are hired or rehired to any position shall be placed at the entrance pay step, and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps.
To be considered for employment, applicants must be legally authorized to work and accept employment in the United States. The Municipality of Anchorage is not able to provide any type of sponsorship, including Student Visas and Employment Visas, under any circumstances.
Example of Duties This position provides supervision of participants to ensure the safety of all persons utilizing Municipal pools/lakes; communicates information to coworkers, immediate supervisor and the public; provides a wide variety of water safety instruction to children and adults; responsibilities also include performing facility and grounds security and maintenance; performing rescues, assists, first aid, CPR and functions of the Emergency Action/Management Plan; and performing duties related to maintaining swimming pool water quality standards. Must be certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences Must possess the following valid certifications to apply:
American Red Cross or equivalent Lifeguard Training at time of hire.
American Red Cross or equivalent First Aid Certification at time of hire.
American Red Cross or equivalent Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Professional Rescuers at time of hire.
