
Real Estate Paralegal

Burr & Forman LLP has an immediate opening in our Bluffton, SC office for a full-time, experienced real estate paralegal. This position requires knowledge of all aspects of real estate closings from start to finish.
KEY CONTRIBUTIONS
Review and analyze abstract and title documents in order to assist in preparation for commercial real estate closings Review loan documents from lenders for the purpose of preparing commercial real estate closings Draft closing disclosures, deeds, affidavits, legal descriptions, HUD, and other required closing documents Establish, organize and maintain files, closing documents, document binders, and lists Prorate taxes and other property assessments Conduct research and locate tax information, zoning, development regulations, and other information Assist in the preparation of closings by preparing executable closing documents, disbursement requests, and correspondence Serve as a liaison between clients, realtors, lenders, abstractors, title underwriter, and attorney Maintain and balance incoming and outgoing closing funds Other responsibilities as needed THE ESSENTIALS
A bachelor’s degree, paralegal degree or certification, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience At least three years of experience in real estate transactions is required Proficiency in Qualia preferred; MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is required Highly organized, detail‑orientated, proactive with a desire to take ownership as a contributing member of the team. Balance competing priorities and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment, exercising patience and professionalism during stressful situations Strong communication and drafting skills Must work well in a collaborative legal team environment
