Job Opportunity: Agricultural Property Underwriter
We are seeking a detail-oriented Agricultural Property Underwriter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and pricing insurance risks for diverse agricultural operations, ranging from family farms to large-scale agribusinesses. You will play a critical role in protecting the livelihoods of producers by crafting tailored insurance solutions that address the unique exposures of the modern farm.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Evaluation & Analysis : Independently review new business, renewals, and endorsements for farm and commercial agribusiness policies.
Property Inspections : Conduct field assessments to measure buildings and inspect high-value equipment such as tractors and combines.
Decision Making : Exercise judgment and discretion within granted authority levels to accept, retain, or price moderate to high-exposure risks.
Collaboration : Partner with agents and brokers to develop business opportunities and provide technical underwriting support.
Portfolio Management : Monitor book performance and industry trends to ensure profitable growth and compliance with state and federal regulations.
Required Qualifications
Education : Undergraduate or Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.
Experience : Typically 2–5 years of Insurance, Agricultural underwriting, or a strong Agri-Business background.
Technical Skills : Strong technology understanding and the ability to learn new software.
Communication : Excellent interpersonal skills for negotiating terms with agents and building trust with clients.
