Job Summary The responsibilities for this position include the following:

Leadership & Supervision (40%)

Lead students by role modeling involvement in the residential and campus communities.

Supervise, develop, and evaluate 5-16 Resident Assistants (RAs).

Assist with the selection, training, and recognition of student staff.

Coordinate the implementation of needs-based programming.

Provide proactive educational interventions to minimize behavioral issues.

Advise the hall council in the assigned building.

Support and encourage involvement with the Residence Hall Association (RHA).

Crisis Response & Student Conduct (30%)

Advise and refer students on matters of personal, social, and academic concern.

Mediate student conflicts.

Ensure documentation of student policy violations.

Adjudicate conduct violations.

Carry out crisis response plans as situations arise.

Participate in the rotating weekly on-call duty model.

Operational Support (30%)

Support and implement the mission, vision, and goals of the University, SAEM division, and HRL department.

Report student issues through appropriate channels in a timely manner.

Administer operational and facilities functions of the residence hall.

Coordinate opening, closing, and break coverage of the residence hall.

Serve on at least one committee or project each semester.

Assist with major department events such as training, selection, room sign‑up, and large-scale programming.

Required Qualifications

Be fully admitted to a graduate degree program at UWG. Students admitted provisionally are not eligible.

Hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Be enrolled full‑time in a UWG graduate program during the assistantship period.

Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in all graduate coursework and remain in good academic standing.

Meet eligibility requirements for employment in the United States.

Strong time‑management skills to allow successful autonomous work.

Flexibility to adjust and change schedules to match department or job priorities.

Drive to improve the residential experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Eagerness to learn skills outside specific graduate role, such as the facilities side of the Housing department.

Experience with Housing and Residence Life as a student assistant, involvement with RHA, or involvement in National Residence Hall Honorary.

Valid driver’s license.

Proposed Salary

Monthly stipend of $1,000.00.

Tuition waiver, reducing graduate tuition to $25 per semester plus mandatory fees as long as employed in the assistantship.
