The Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator is a valuable member of Journey Home Animal Care Center. Volunteers support our staff with their work, time, and skills; so the Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator is vital to providing that assistance to our team.

Basic responsibilities of this position include:

Volunteer recruitment and stewardship

Conducting volunteer orientations and specialized trainings

Making volunteer schedules and assigning necessary tasks

Attending and helping with all fundraising events. Fundraising initiatives are all-hands-on-deck!

Developing policies within the volunteer program to further improve the volunteer experience at JHACC

Developing and organizing community outreach programs (youth summer camp, dog bite prevention, senior citizen outreach, educational visits)

This position also works directly with the development team for all fundraising and marketing initiatives as directed by the Executive Director.

This position reports to the Development Director, and works in tandem with the animal care teams as well as the front desk reception staff.

This position should expect to attend weekly community facing events.

(The Candidate for this position will work hours between Tuesday - Saturday.)

About Journey Home Journey Home Animal Care Center serves the Colorado River Valley in Western Garfield County by providing care for over 1,500 lost, ill, injured, or orphaned animals each year. The center offers a variety of services, including pet adoptions, community resources, humane education programs for all age groups, and a low-cost veterinary clinic.
