Job Description This position is responsible for performing financial, operational, and other technical ad-hoc analysis for Marketing at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa. This position specializes in using data and technical skills to contribute to the improvement of marketing performance both operationally and financially.
Essential Job Functions
Position reports to the Director of Marketing
Utilizes SQL to collect data from various databases to develop reports and perform ad-hoc analysis on projects requested by departmental management
Assists department in expanding internal skillset of Tableau to increase available dashboards (including Tableau Pulse), data alerts for internal business users and further enable Tableau’s AI infrastructure
Assists team in developing daily, weekly, and monthly reporting across within marketing department at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa
Assists with development of marketing financial review presentations
Learn and retain all casino mathematics equations and key performance indicators across all departments
Clearly communicates findings to key stakeholders, seeks their support, and keeps them informed of changes that may have impact on the business
Partners with our database marketing team to schedule email and direct mail campaigns
Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting across multiple departments and properties within Seminole Gaming
Develops historical, current, and potential future trend analysis
Develop and maintain appropriate financial and operating metrics for use by management in decision making
Supports departmental goals and ensures performance measures are understood and achieved by managers
Ability to prioritize projects to balance the support of broad initiatives, reporting and ad-hoc analysis
If needed, develop and maintain advanced Excel tools utilizing PowerPivot and VBA
Validates results to ensure reporting accuracy
Firm understanding of gaming offers, direct marketing and casino guest loyalty with ability to interpret ad‑hoc/post-analysis results and recommend changes to marketing strategy
Assists with developing, coordinating, and implementing direct mail programs, email programs, and marketing programs that drive volume, retention, and revenue
Assists the annual budgeting process
Assists in business and financial planning, including short- and long-term forecasting
Qualifications Bachelor or Associate’s degree required in the area of Marketing, Finance, Statistics, Economics, or Business Management; additional BI certification a plus. Require 3 years of related business experience as a business/financial analyst or similar position, preferably within the casino hotel industry. 3 years of experience with analytic BI tools such as SQL, Oracle, Tableau, Excel, and Salesforce preferred.
Strong quantitative and analytic skills with demonstrated success in analytic roles, including (but not exclusive to) financial analysis, direct marketing, consulting, IT, statistical analytics, forecasting techniques, marketing studies, and optimization analytics
Demonstrated success working with very large data sets, developing tools for streamlined analysis and creating reports that succinctly summarize complex concepts
Have ability to communicate all analytical findings, conclusions, and recommendations to relevant business, operating, and marketing constituents in the enterprise
Forecasting experience preferred, but not required
VBA experience preferred, but not required
Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret employee business needs and translating them into operational requirements
Self-sufficient, requiring some limited supervision over job knowledge, expectations, and successful project completion
Highly personable, able to easily articulate information and build strong relationships across multiple internal departments and potentially multiple external properties
Must have a high proficiency level with Microsoft Excel
Must possess ability to manage multiple projects at once
Must be very detail-oriented
Must possess the ability to define problems, collect/sort/manipulate large amounts of data from multiple sources, establish facts, test theories, and draw valid conclusions
Work Environment
Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a professional office setting, but there may be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
