Assistant Coach and Director of Player Development Position Summary Information: This position will assist in the development and promotion of a competitive NCAA Division I women’s basketball program, and oversee execution and assist in maintaining organization & quality control of all aspects of the Women’s Basketball program.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

Two years of related experience.

Working knowledge of NCAA DI rules, fundamentals, techniques, and rules of sport.

Ability to effectively communicate with Student‑Athletes, Coaching staff, Faculty, and Department of Athletics staff; oversee execution and assist in maintaining organization & quality control of all aspects of the program.

Ability to assist in the development of practice/game strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree.

Two years experience assisting a head coach in all aspects of a women’s basketball program, with an emphasis in organizational oversight, coaching & organizing the assistant coaches, managers, graduate assistants, practice/play quality control, coordination of recruiting, fundraising oversight, and coordination of summer camps.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in the development and promotion of a competitive NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball program, and oversee execution and assist in maintaining organization & quality control of all aspects of the Women’s Basketball program.

Manage recruiting budget. Coordinate & oversee organization of staff recruiting efforts – assist in recruitment of prospective student‑athletes per NCAA rules.

Organize recruiting visits on‑campus and develop recruiting materials; review and update the recruiting process.

Manage recruiting database, service, compile video analysis and advise Head Coach.

Oversee creation of recruiting mailings, digital slides & recruiting videos.

Maintain synergy of assistant coaches calls & live evaluations during summer recruiting periods.

Assist in preparation for individual & team practices, and competitions per NCAA rules, with a focus on video breakdown, and statistics.

Evaluate & critique specific areas of offense and/or defense and provide feedback to coaching staff.

Execute research on new basketball‑related ideas to implement.

Assist coaching staff with recruiting visits, and coordinate visit‑related tasks with Athletics Compliance.

Oversee all program software, including applications such as: JumpForward, Photoshop, SportsCode, Dropbox, Synergy, Quickdraw, etc.

Create and foster an environment that promotes the overall health and welfare of student‑athletes.

Other Duties

Support and promote the Department of Athletics’ mission, values and principles on campus and in the community.

Participate in development/fundraising activities under the direction of the Director of Athletics and/or Head Coach, and in conjunction with efforts of the Athletics Development Office.

Assume temporary administrative roles as required by the Department of Athletics.

Participate in departmental meetings, searches, and committees as required.

Actively participate and assist in the evaluation of and formulation of departmental policies as requested.

Work with Marketing to create positive publications benefiting the program, Department of Athletics, etc.

Additional Information

51% of duties related to coaching/instruction.

Full‑time position, 1.0 staff level.

No visa sponsorship available; all candidates must be eligible to work and live in the U.S.

Work schedule: 40 hours per week; requires traveling, night and weekend work.
