Overview The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women's and 10 men's programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the prestigious Big Ten Conference, the nation's premier academic and athletic conference, after officially joining the league on July 1, 2014. Known as "The Birthplace of College Football", Rutgers hosted Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869 in the first intercollegiate football game, with RU earning a 6-4 victory.

Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Director of Player Services - Football for Athletics.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

Performs a variety of day-to-day responsibilities in support of the Football Program.

Reports to the Director of Football Equipment and is assigned by the Head Football Coach to perform duties within the football program's Equipment Operations department.

Supervises and directs Equipment Room Graduate Assistants and Student Managers.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree required.

Graduate Assistant Equipment Manager experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or 2 years full time equipment manager experience.

Certifications/Licenses

A valid driver's license would be required for this position.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, follow up, and follow through.

Detail oriented and possess excellent oral and written communicational skills.

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Knowledge of the Big Ten Football Conference and NCAA rules and regulations, particularly in regards to recruiting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Work, Outlook, Access & Internet Explorer.

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Athletic Equipment Manager through the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA) or completion of Certification within 1 year of employment.

Equipment Utilized

Microsoft Excel.

Word.

Outlook.

Access.

Internet browsers.

Use of athletic vehicles (vans, etc.). Maintain inventory system, Teamworks.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Nights and weekends will be required.
