The Survey Crew Chief leads daily field survey operations on active construction and civil projects. This position is responsible for layout, data collection, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of field measurements. The role is hands‑on and best suited for someone who prefers working outdoors, taking ownership of field work, and supporting fast‑moving projects. Projects are typically short duration and schedule‑driven, requiring efficiency, accuracy, and strong field judgment. Salary:

Perform construction staking, layout, and as‑built surveys Collect topographic data and cross sections Operate GPS, robotic total stations, and related survey equipment Maintain accurate field notes and digital documentation Perform basic field calculations and quality control checks Download, upload, and organize survey data for office processing Ensure proper care, calibration, and storage of survey equipment Maintain company vehicle, tools, and supplies Follow safety standards and jobsite requirements Communicate progress, issues, and site conditions to project leads Qualifications

Prior field surveying experience preferred Exposure to construction layout and/or topographic surveying Experience with GPS and total station equipment is a plus (training available) Ability to work extended hours and overtime Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record Strong attention to detail and reliability Ability to work independently and manage daily field tasks Compensation & Benefits
