Position Overview The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for the position of Director of Undergraduate Recruitment. Under the direction and collaborative support of the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment is an integral leader with responsibilities related to directing, developing, and managing undergraduate student recruitment functions and operations. The Director will serve as a key liaison with internal and external partners while providing supervision of freshman and transfer Admission Counselors through strategic leadership. The Director is accountable for successful execution of data‑driven recruitment strategies and initiatives to achieve the University’s enrollment goals. As a member of the Undergraduate Admissions senior leadership team within the Enrollment Management and Student Affairs Division, this individual will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure a high level of student engagement and customer service from inquiry to admissions. The Director will strategically design and implement comprehensive outreach and recruitment programs that are linked to the overall enrollment and retention efforts of the University of North Texas at Dallas.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise all Freshman and Transfer Admission Counselors. Supervisory responsibilities include hiring processes, setting expectations, training and professional development, performance management and evaluations, and disciplinary processes.
Execute internal and external projects and recruitment initiatives (i.e. Dallas County Promise, T3, GTF, etc.) and serve as project leader for UNT Dallas.
Develop, implement, and oversee recruitment territory assignment and annual data‑driven recruitment plans for Undergraduate Admissions working in alignment with the AVP to meet strategic initiatives.
Plan annual strategies for participation in undergraduate college fairs, recruitment visits, and oversee recruitment and yield programs, and collaborate with other Directors in the Undergraduate Admissions team.
Measure accountability and impact of recruitment strategies and tactics, providing feedback and recommendations for process improvements in order to enhance undergraduate recruitment and overall annual yield.
Review and provide feedback on marketing initiatives such as engagement campaigns, mailings, digital campaigns, and printed materials.
Maintain effective communications with various university departments to facilitate efforts in the recruitment, application, and enrollment process.
Serve as liaison to internal and external stakeholders related to recruitment initiatives and partnerships.
Serve on committees, as assigned.
Perform additional related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in related field and seven years of closely related professional experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Extensive knowledge of University policies and procedures related to recruitment.
Extensive knowledge of (or ability to rapidly assimilate) Texas and ABA rules and regulations related to school and admission to legal practice.
Significant experience with enrollment management, including developing, implementing, evaluating, and revising an annual recruitment plan and admissions plan in collaboration with school faculty and administration.
Marketing and public relations skills with an advanced understanding of the role of outreach in reaching enrollment goals.
Demonstrated experience with ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and university regulations and policies as they relate to admissions.
Ability to work effectively with all levels of internal constituents, particularly the Dean, faculty and administrators, and counterparts in other organizations within the University.
Exceptional communication skills, including effective writing and public speaking.
Preferred Qualifications Masters Degree and experience working in a college or university admission/recruiting/advising office; experience with student information and client relationship management systems. Knowledge of FAFSA/TASFA/College Application process.
