401(k) 401(k) matching Paid time off Vision insurance Position Summary The Mortgage & Commercial Loan Processor is responsible for processing residential mortgage and commercial loan applications from intake through closing, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. This position supports the Vice President of Asset Development by preparing reports, maintaining data integrity, and assisting with portfolio and pipeline management. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to manage multiple loan files in a fast-paced lending environment.
Key Responsibilities – Mortgage & Commercial
Process residential mortgage and commercial loan applications from application to closing
Review loan files for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with underwriting and regulatory guidelines
Collect, verify, and analyze borrower documentation, including income, assets, credit, and collateral
Order and track third-party services (appraisals, title, insurance, inspections, etc.)
Prepare loan files for underwriting and ensure all conditions are satisfied prior to closing
Coordinate with loan officers, underwriters, title companies, and borrowers to facilitate timely closings
Maintain organized and compliant loan files in accordance with internal and regulatory standards
Reporting & Administrative Support
Prepare and maintain regular reports for the Vice President of Asset Development, including: Pipeline reports, Closed loan reports, Delinquency and servicing reports (as needed), Production and performance metrics
Assist in compiling data for regulatory, board, and internal reporting requirements
Track loan status updates and ensure data accuracy within loan systems (e.g., NLS, Ventures, or other platforms)
Support data reconciliation and file audits as requested
Systems & Data Management
Enter and maintain accurate loan data in loan origination and servicing systems
Utilize Excel for reporting, tracking, and data analysis, including: Creating and maintaining spreadsheets; Data validation and reconciliation
Assist with system updates, data cleanup, and file transfers as needed
Compliance & Quality Control
Ensure all loan files meet internal policies and regulatory requirements (SBA, CDFI, mortgage lending, etc.)
Assist with file reviews and audits to ensure compliance and data accuracy
Identify and escalate discrepancies or missing documentation to management
Additional Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Asset Development and organizational leadership
Qualifications Education & Experience
Associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, or related field preferred
Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in mortgage and/or commercial loan processing
Experience working in a financial institution, CDFI, or lending environment preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of mortgage and/or commercial loan processing procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines
Excellent communication and follow-up skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with loan systems such as Nortridge (NLS), Ventures, or similar platforms
Familiarity with SBA lending programs and compliance requirements
Experience supporting reporting for management or board-level presentations
Work Environment
Office-based position with standard business hours
May require occasional additional hours to meet deadlines
