About the Role: Wine & Spirits Specialist As a Wine & Spirits Specialist, you are a key ambassador of Collective Wine & Supply’s curated experience. This role is designed for someone with a deep passion for wine and spirits, strong product knowledge, and a love for guiding guests through discovery.
You will serve as a trusted resource on the floor, educating guests and team members, offering thoughtful recommendations, supporting merchandising and inventory, and helping elevate every interaction through expertise and hospitality. In addition to guest service, you’ll play an important role in developing staff knowledge, promoting subscriptions and programs, and strengthening long‑term guest relationships.
This position blends advanced product expertise with hands‑on retail operations in a fast‑paced, hospitality‑forward environment. The ideal candidate is curious, collaborative, and excited to grow alongside a community‑driven brand focused on exploration, integrity, and thoughtful service.
Hours & Scheduling Collective Wine & Supply is set to be open daily from 10 am - 9 pm.
Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and select holidays.
Flexibility to work peak retail hours is required.
The schedule will be discussed based on business needs and your availability.
Core Responsibilities
Customer Engagement: Greet guests, understand their needs, provide tailored product suggestions, assist with selections and carrying items, and resolve inquiries.
Product Expertise: Maintain deep knowledge of wines and spirits: regions, vintages, and pairings – to educate customers and staff.
Sales & Merchandising: Drive revenue through suggestive selling, maintain attractive displays, stock shelves, and manage promotions.
Inventory Management: Handle inventory, process orders, and ensure accurate stock levels. (Must be able to lift 40lbs).
Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with guests to create an exploratory attitude and repeat business. Effectively market and sell wine club subscriptions.
Process sales transactions including returns, active promotions, exchanges etc.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and sales skills.
Passion for wine and spirits and a desire to learn as well as train entry level staff as needed.
Experience with wine service and tasting etiquette.
Ability to work in a changing environment and adapt from individual tasks to guest‑facing roles in a fast‑paced retail environment.
Ability to self‑motivate, meet cleanliness standards and complete assigned tasks.
Physical ability to lift cases 40+ lbs and stand for extended periods.
Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and some holidays as needed.
Must not wear any scented products to work i.e., lotions, shampoos, perfumes, etc.
