Job Summary
The Aquetza Program at CU Boulder is hiring 3 Co‑Directors for the 2026 Aquetza Youth Leadership Program. The role requires a high level of dedication, organization, presence, and relationship‑building skills. Co‑Directors spend most of each day supervising the execution of programming and supporting staff, advocating between the university and program staff to ensure alignment with university procedures, and crafting an impactful program for youth participants. They are expected to live‑in and be on‑call throughout the program.
Who We Are The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement partners with communities across Colorado and beyond to provide first‑generation students and their families with comprehensive college preparation and social development programming. Aquetza engages students in examining connections across history, literature, health, and environmental science, and provides opportunities to develop academic skills, critical thinking, and community engagement.
Responsibilities
Build and sustain substantial relationships with students throughout the program, fostering trust, respect, and accountability.
Facilitate daily workshops that create space for reflection, dialogue, and community building while ensuring student safety and well‑being.
Supervise and support staff members through daily programming.
Collaborate closely with staff to ensure a collaborative program experience, clear communication, and a supportive environment.
Oversee staff dynamics and support professional growth.
Lead staff meetings and address concerns with program staff.
Model appropriate boundaries and expectations with all program youth.
Address conflict with care and consideration.
Enforce all university youth safety processes and report any safety concerns.
Respond quickly and efficiently in emergency scenarios.
Follow university guidelines to report any staff or student misconduct.
Maintain active communication with Aquetza staff and students.
Develop and lead all staff training.
Qualifications & Requirements
3 years of previous involvement in the Aquetza Youth Leadership Program.
Experience as a counselor or instructor, or prior experience with the Aquetza program.
Phenomenal teammate with excellent communication and facilitation skills.
Leadership experience and ability to guide staff in summer programming.
Experience working with middle‑ and high‑school‑aged students, first‑generation students, and community organizations aligned with Aquetza’s vision.
Background check clearance if hired.
Benefits Hourly rate: $18.90–$25.00. Positions are paid sick‑leave eligible but not benefits‑eligible.
