Primary Function The Portfolio Management Specialist II serves as learning bridge between a Specialist 1 and Portfolio Manager. The individual selected for the job understands the basics of the mortgage industry and Shellpoint’s role as a Servicer. In addition to their responsibilities as it relates to supporting their designated Portfolio Manager, they will also serve as the empowered single point of contact for smaller clients, or clients of a less demanding nature. The individual will leverage creative talents, excellent communication skills, analytical and project management skills.
Principal Duties
Excel in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment while participating and contributing to the creation, design, and implementation of value‑add business strategies that affect current operating practices and company policy.
Produce and compile periodic internal and external client reporting and analyze for observations.
Facilitate the Management of their designated clients as it relates to coordinating and managing reoccurring meetings, tracking follow‑ups, and implementation of operational improvements as required by their client(s).
Suggest and Drive Strategy on their assigned portfolio of loans.
Assist the Portfolio Management Team on key portfolio processes and key operational risk‑management metrics.
Be able to clearly articulate and present ideas and findings to a varied audience including the production staff and senior management.
Performs related duties as assigned by management.
Education And Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in a business discipline, preferred.
2+ years’ work experience in Mortgage Servicing or a client servicing function.
Experience in Project Management and Meeting Facilitation
Experience with PowerPoint and Visio a plus.
Prior work experience performing business, data, and/or statistical analysis is a plus.
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements
Basic understanding of the Mortgage Industry, Pool Characteristics, and Servicing Strategy.
Strong business communication skills with an ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
Strong attention to detail.
Moderate skills in Excel (graphs, pivot tables, formulas).
Fast learner – able to assimilate new ideas and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
Natural entrepreneurial interest is a plus.
