General Job Summary Reporting to the Trade Compliance Manager, the Trade Compliance Analyst collaborates with functional departments to ensure legal compliance and provides import/export administration and control within government rules and regulations, including appropriate licensing related to the import and export of hardware (e.g., parts, aircraft) and technical data at KUAS.

Essential Job Functions Trade Compliance Analyst I

Coordinates and approves international shipments in accordance with U.S. trade laws.

Completes Denied Parties Screenings.

Prepares, reviews, and approves international travel.

Prepares, reviews, and submits foreign national visits for approval.

Verifies proper export jurisdiction and classifications for products, technology, and software in accordance with applicable U.S. export controls (EAR and ITAR).

Analyzes proposed business activities for export control and provides related guidance.

Maintains compliance due diligence reports and records.

Other duties may be assigned.

Trade Compliance Analyst II

Prepares, reviews, and submits applications for export/import licenses, permits, and other authorization requests to the Empowered Official.

Conducts and facilitates due diligence reviews in connection with transactions that may pose a trade compliance risk to the Company.

Monitors and studies relevant regulatory developments (Department of State, Department of Commerce, Customs & Border Protection, Office of Foreign Assets Control).

Helps business partners understand the risks and consequences of a situation, communicates effectively, and develops alternatives to manage identified risks.

Manages record‑keeping and reporting requirements.

Collaborates with engineers and stakeholders to determine jurisdiction of ITAR and EAR controlled hardware, technical data, and technology.

Provides guidance and advice regarding import/export issues to peers and upper‑level management, while assuring full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Provides training and guidance on jurisdiction, classification processes, ITAR and EAR regulations to team members.

Education and Experience Required The education and experience listed below apply to and build upon all successive levels of Trade Compliance Analyst.

Trade Compliance Analyst I

BA/BS in a related field or a minimum of 3 years of directly related work experience.

Familiarity with Commerce (EAR), State Department (ITAR) and U.S. Customs trade regulations.

Practical day‑to‑day work experience applying ITAR and EAR regulations.

Trade Compliance Analyst II

Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in Trade Compliance Analysis.

Understanding of Commerce (EAR), State Department (ITAR) and U.S. Customs trade regulations.

Familiarity with a range of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.

Extensive experience with Commerce (EAR), State Department (ITAR) and U.S. Customs trade regulations.

Familiarity with Technical Assurance Agreements (TAA).

Preferred

Experience in the defense industry is a plus.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

Office and/or manufacturing environment.

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.

Ability to perform repetitive motion (key‑boarding, 10‑key, phones).

May be required to lift up to 50 pounds in accordance with KUAS General Safety Training guidelines.

Travel Requirements

Up to 5% travel – may be required between other KUAS locations and customer sites.
