Job Overview Thomas & Hutton has an opening for a motivated and driven Civil Design Engineer in Training in Mount Pleasant, SC. Civil Designers are expected to prepare site development construction drawings and engineering design considerations for water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure, and permit applications associated with residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Client interaction is regular and excellent communication skills are required. Experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software is mandatory.
Minimum Requirements
3+ years experience designing land‑development projects using Civil 3D.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. EIT and PE registration (or ability to become a PE within one year) strongly preferred.
Skills
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software applications.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to work a regular schedule of 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM Mon‑Thurs and 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM Fri.
Proven ability to multi‑task, prioritize workflow, and complete tasks.
Highly client‑service oriented, self‑starter, and team player.
Problem‑solving ability.
Excellent time‑management skills.
