Director of Digital Media and Broadcasting Ashland University is an NCAA Division II institution with a comprehensive 24‑sport athletic program, located off Interstate 71 in Ashland, Ohio.

Overview The Director of Digital Media and Broadcasting oversees all multimedia, broadcast and digital storytelling efforts for the athletic department. The role supervises student media staff, collaborates with the Marketing Office, Journalism and Digital Media faculty, coaches, and other athletic staff, and ensures high‑quality production and brand consistency across all platforms. This full‑time position requires some weekend and evening work.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise, train and schedule student workers and part‑time workers.

Oversee live broadcast production for FloCollege Sports, ensuring quality control and contract compliance.

Work closely with the Marketing Office, Journalism and Digital Media faculty, coaches and staff.

Manage and direct social media strategy, content and promotional campaigns.

Develop graphic design standards and athletics branding.

Maintain consistent visual and editorial standards aligned with University branding.

Coordinate game‑day media operations for home athletic events.

Attend weekly meetings of the Athletic Department Executive Staff.

Promote and publicize Ashland University and the GMAC on behalf of the athletic department, including special events, tournaments and championships.

Advise coaches and personnel on promotion and publicity of key events, postseason events, awards, honors and camps/clinics.

Report to the Director of Athletics and provide other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in sports management, communications, broadcasting, digital media, marketing or a related field.

Two to four years of experience in digital media, sports broadcasting, video production or athletic communications.

Experience managing social media platforms for an organization or athletic program.

Knowledge of live streaming platforms and broadcast production equipment.

Strong video editing and graphic design skills.

Well‑developed communication, time‑management and organizational skills.

Ability to tell stories of student‑athletes, coaches and the University athletics.

Ability to manage a budget.

Weekend and evening availability; some travel required.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in college athletics or other athletic organizations.

Comfortable working with student‑athletes and coaches.
